About Me
Professional and Academic
My name is Daniel De Sousa and I’m currently studying for my B.S. in Computer Science at Drexel University. My future plans are up in the air, but I’m interested in specializing in Artificial Intelligence and/or Computer Graphics. My current focus is on coming up with a sustainable business.
My work professional work experience has involved working for two fortune 500 companies as a Software Engineering Intern. In the Fall of 2006 through the Spring 2007, I worked for Motorola: Connected Home Solutions to help develop automated test plans for set top box test suites. Additionally, I helped develop a next generation test suite for stability testing of those boxes. In the following Fall - Spring, I worked for Google in Mountain View, Ca. While there I worked with the Machine Translation group to develop a regression testing system for their Machine Translation system. They are doing excellent work there, and you can see their progress by checking out translate.google.com.
Currently, I am in school attempting to work on a number of side projects when I’m not spending time pursuing my recreational interests, mainly video games and reading political headlines.
Personal
I recently got a ferret with my roommate and he has been occupying a good slice of my time.
His name is Jean-Luc…and yes, named after the greatest fictional starship captain the world has ever known.
